Potassium promotes fruit growth. This i know. But i was told if you put Potassium on now, it will make your Pumpkin Mature much more faster. Like in 2 weeks. So, should you put Potassium on now or not. August is when your pumpkin will grow the most, and i was told you shouldn't put Potassium on until September. But in September the Pumpkins slow down. So who has the right answer?

I use potassium in my fertilizer mix after I have good fruit set. In early August, I double up the amount. In September, when growth slows down, I stop fertilizing, except for a little Neptune's fish and seaweed. I like to let the pumpkin finish on it's own. This seems to work well, I have yet to blow one up, or have a "split". (KNOCK ON WOOD!)
