Hello! I went out today and bought a Schultz dispenser, you know, the kind that you attach to the hose? Well, I put it on, and attached it to the soaker hose. But when I turned it on, it started leaking like crazy from around the rim where the container attaches to the hose hook-up. So I took it off and tried to be sure that I had not mis-threaded it or anything. No change. Do I just have a defective one, or do they not work with soaker hoses? When I turned the pressure down low enough that it didn't leak, it seemed as though the soaker hose was not sweating at all. Would appreciate your advice. Thanks! Patience

I bought one of those Schultz dispensers also, and it leaked like mad. The one from Miracle Grow works much better.

check and make sure they gave you the washer inside sometimes they're missing. I had the problem with a miracle grow one and it was a split in the plastic that you couldn't see till ya bent the plastic.

DripWorks.com has a nice selection of injectors. May cost a little more than the Miracle Gro/Schultz version but many of them are adjustable and I imagine they will last much much longer. I have an EZ Gro and I think it was around $55.

I too had a problem with a "Peters" dispenser.I didn't want to go back to my Miracle Gro one because i liked the different spray patterns offered by the Peters dispenser. heres how i fixed the problem. On the areas that leaked i wrapped it with "teflon" tape. This completely cured any leaking that i used to have. Teflon tape can be found at any store that sells plumbing supplies and it's cheap too. Just my two cents worth. I hope it helps.

Hey, thanks y'all. I can use almost all of that advice. I checked and sure enough, I am missing my washer. BUT, I think that I will return the thing and get a Miracle Gro version anyway. Also, it would probably be a good idea if I did get a flow regulator. (Another receipt to hide from the hubby! LOL) So, I thank you and my garden thanks you! Patience

Ah. I didn't realize that there was a difference. I'll be sure to get the right thing though. Thanks. Pressure regulator. Got it.
