I have a nicely shaped pumpkin I'd like to push along. I stopped all liquid ferts due to some issues with females aborting early, but I do have this one plant I'd like to kepp pushing. Pumpkin is at about 45#, would like to get it to 100# what do you feed to these mid termers? Plenty of fert/compost under main and seconds, leaves look good, would just like to keep packing on the weight.

thanks.

Pappy - Did you have good results with the wood ash?
I saw this in Langevin's second book and wondered about it.

Thanks - Ceis

CEIS, I think the wood ash works great. I'll keep using it. No funny I'm not patronizing you. LOL! I only have 4 little seedlings in my patch right now and a 45#er would look great sitting out there under a lush green canopy!!

Thanks Pappy - I think I'll clean out the fire place this weekend and spread a little ash around.

I should be thankful for what I got on the vine - but have run into some cool temps at night. Growth has slowed down considerably so I'm a little disappointed.

Good luck with the seedlings. - Ceis

Is it something I can buy in the store or do I need to set a tree on fire tonight and shovel it up in the morning?

I use only oak. Can't say if other ash works as well.

No Pappy It's tempting but....I'm gonna raise my head way up high and rest it on the curbstone...I won't touch it! Chuck
