I saw a thread where someone had calculated how much water he needed for his pumpkins.Can someone please give me the formula.I think i may be under watering according to how many gallons he was using.Thanks

For a 1000 sq ft patch you need to apply 623 gal. per week or 89 gal. per day. To figure how many gals your watering system throws, time how long it takes to fill a 5 gal bucket then divide it out to get the amout of time you need to water to put down the 89 gal. a day. If it takes you 2 minutes to fill the bucket with your system, then 89gal/5gal = 17.8 X 2 minutes = 35.6 minutes watering time to put down 89 gals. Hope this helps..

Oh yeah, and that is based on 1" of water per week, sorry, left that out.

watering amount can vary greatly depending on soil type and weather conditions.
