Compost IT REALLY GOOD --At least 1 year and 2 is better --Would suggest not putting it on a patch this year unless its for 2008---

There are better manures to be had in Wisconsin than Pig Manure...

Wisconsin is cow country. Agree with aging the pig manure a long time. Add light stuff to it too so it'll breath & keep turning it over.

Depends on what kind of pig manure. If it is real runny stuff, it probably isn't very good. The best pig manure is the stuff that comes out of deep bedding pack hoop buildings. It is a combination of manure and corn stalks. The Trumm family in Iowa uses it successfully, after it has composted a while. Ralph had the 1200# state record in 2005 and his father and brother had 2 that totaled over a ton in 2006.

well I was going to till up an area that I had ten butcher pigs in last year, so it would not be totally fresh, and I would be adding lime, and decomposed horse munure (4yr old)

Thats a different story Tim... Pigs are often used to prepare an area for a garden. Plant away. I thought you were thinking of getting some of that pig poo that those big hog farms that give it away. There is a reason why they have to give it away :)
