I have heard you shouldn't ferlitize too much when trying to set your pumpkins, it can cause aborts. I am using fish and sea weed once a week and 20-20-20 now, anout 5 oz a week. The plant is about 11 feet long, probably around 100 sq ft total. I'm going to start setting pumpkins in 4 to 6 days, what would be a good level of fertilizer so I don't get aborts? Any experience would help, Thanks Jim

Aborts. Are also caused by it being to hot. above 90. even self-pollination can cause aborts. With fertilizer lots of growers suspend all nitrogen to there plants

by the way, some of you already have big fruits growing (pappy, jeff). What does mean "feeding it"? Do you still fertilize the complete plant, stump and all vines, or stress the area where the fruit has set?
