Will 20-20-20 burn your plant when yow mix it right. Cody

This would depend on a lot of variables. Extremes of temperature & humidity can certainly combine with the proper rate to cause improper problems.

The grade of 20-20-20 would matter too. There are floral grades like Miller's that have a chlorine content of less than .2%. Then there are the cheaper versions with a chlorine content of 2% which is 100 times greater.

The Phosphorus source is also a potential problem. Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) does not go into solution very easily. If the fertilizer plant that produced the 20-20-20 has a newer mill, then they might have gotten a good grind & the resulting material will go right into solution. But if the mill is a few years old & wearing out, then the DAP might not all go into solution. Hence small, salty undissolved particles can land on the leaves & burn them.

Drought stress on the plant the day of treatment could spell trouble for the correct dose of even the best grade.

How's that for a not-so-direct answer?

Are you talking Peter's, Miracle Grow, etc. I have used them but typically feed the stump at night. Have not used that strong as a foliar.

I use it weekly. Getting worried now that I have "fast" growing fruit as I don't want a blow out, but feeding the stump hasn't been a problem and no signs of distress. These things grow so fast.....

1 tablespoon per gallon and I feed a gallon to each stump. You could feed along the vine too, but I just don't have time with work and what have you to do this. Hard enough to keep up with foliar feeding, weeding, measuring and watering. Blowouts are my concern now.

I Dont use much 20-20-20 , at the most I use it 3 times in a season, last year I used it twice and this year havnt touched it yet. How often do you plan on using it Cody? How often do you guys use the 20-20-20?

I have been very shy of using the real hard fertz since a couple years back, I killed a plant and made em look blue bloated and stiff from using about a half of hand full of 0-0-60 down each vine of about a 700 sq ft plant.LOL Remember that Tremor?!,Ha!

I find it hard to get any real numbers out of anybody that uses it. I know quite a few "heavy Hitters" that use it foliar. When following lable directions, it shouldn't burn. Always apply in the evening. I use it soil applied only. I have been dividing 3 handfulls of product disolved between 12 plants, oncw a week. I use it in late may early June and again in Late July and early august after pollination. (I use less than that in June)Too much concentrated around the stump can cause root burn and reduce uptake of nutriants. I would really like some comments from some growers as to how much, interms of quantity of material per plant is "enough".
