What is the best form of alfalfa for the patch. The alfalfa meal powder or in the pellet form and when is the best time to apply it?

Hey Dave, great question. I'm using alfalfa meal for the first time this year in the soil and in a tea format. Got some great tips from an earlier post at http://www.bigpumpkins.com/MsgBoard/ViewThread.asp?b=10&p=131644
Pretty inexpensive at the local co-op!!

pellets are cheaper. But the meal is ground up finer to be broken down by the soil. Just make sure you put it on early. A couple weeks before you plant because it will heat up. Most importantly by the new plant you set out.

Make sure the pellets are not feed that have salt added.
