A little dab will do ya!

"EXCESSIVE amounts of ADDED SUGARS applied foliarly can shock the plant resulting in shortened growth internodes, increased leaf maturity & initiation of excess fruiting sites. This can be a short term effect lasting only
a few days."

Don't we just love a great and professional article like this that gives no indication what so ever, for proper or average practical soil or foliar feeding.

I guess if we share enough knowledge here, on this site, we may one day arrive at some kind, of facts, that will fit into the nuts and bolts, of an article like this.

I have been pondering this article, for at least a year trying, to figure out if any, of my difficulty, was as one person said....."to much goodness".

I may, in fact be trying, to find out, just what a "little dab" that does all the goodness is. :)) I have pretty well desided I am going, to the soil with molasses, in fall prep and spring tilling. Staying off the leaves...except, for a little dab here and there, may be my program next summer.

Your right Doc, there is not much to go on in this article. The AGRO-K frequency seams about right.

I just checked Craig's AKGRO-K schedule. It calls for 1oz by foliar approx. every 7th day.

I grew 1370 Rose & 869.5 Calai. I used only Molasses & Fish seaweed. The Roses leaves wilted and died early Sept. The Calia plant is still green and growing. Go figure!

I have had a dumppy complex when it comes to molasses. My personal mismanagement of molasses may just be the final discovery that will raise my ability to maintain a really good healthy patch.

I have been a dumppy molasses person and right here may be my only major problem.

I have eliminated the possible soil content, of the ugly fungal problems, by testing. As I have said earlier my patch is ballanced and all conditions indicate good soil health.

I see molasses as the best soil biological suport product we add. Craig's foliar application is to support the live biology, on the plant and leaf. Actually I now believe that one ounce, in two gallons, will be fine for foliar once every two weeks. If you use teas containing molasses no additional molasses may be needed, on the plant or leaf. I will continue using molasses as a soil amendment but now enter it, to the soil...just a tiny bit, to the leaves.

This may be an important line, for many who have had leaf die off, by late August or early September. This could be what is or has been looking like mysterious fungal attack with no response, to fungicides or oil treatment.
