I am a frequent posting member at thehotpepper.com. I would like to join this community as well, but unfortunately do not have any seeds to start up with this year.
I am partially interested in a pumpkin or 2, but more interested in other giant veggies. Frankly I have always had horrible success with normal sized pumpkins, so I am a bit intimidated by them. I am willing to give a giant a shot though.
As far as trades, while I do not have giants to trade, I have a ton of peppers! I am happy to send as many as you would like as long as I am getting a fair trade back. Im not talking 1 for one, just a good amount compared to what I am sending.

Hmm, how do I send a PM around here? Anyways, my email is: scuba talon awd at gmail dot com. Remove all the spaces. I guess I am not sure exactly what is available in terms of giants. The only ones off the top of my head are tomatoes, cucumbers, and sunflowers. I am up for just about anything though!
Porkchop, thank you. Your name makes me hungry :P

I get a sweat on just reading the names. Some friends like to get drunk, then eat the hottest peppers. I got them good with Ghost peppers 2 yrs ago. I will contact you. JIM

Pick what you really would like to grow for a giant vegetable...I am guessing the growers here can hook you up with a seed. I havent tried hot peppers before, but i have seeds for carolina reaper and trinidad scorpion. If i grow one, do you know how i could get its scoville number tested? Lets hear it....what giant vegetable most interests you, we might be able to find you a seed.

Anyone have a link to what was in the exotic seed exchange this year? It would be a go to list for all things giant sized.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I got hooked up by quite a few people! I am now anxious to get my seeds in the ground, but I have some ground prep left still.
As for the scoville testing. There are many labs around the country, but it is very expensive. Around $7000 if I remember correctly. Also, the pepper must be dried to get an accurate result. Fresh peppers will measure wildly lower than dried ones.
