Cocuzza most growers like to have a pumpkin set and growing by the fourth of July. Anything after that is considered a late set. (It used to be anything after the 10th of July was considered late.) A later pollination doesn't mean that a pumpkin, won't grow big, it just won't have as much time to reach it's potential. I have grown pumpkins in the 600-700 pound range that were set in late July. A lot depends on the weather too, if you have 45 days of nice warm days and nights after setting a pumpkin it will grow fast.

Usually after the weigh offs towards the end of the year there will be a lot of seed offers in the seed exchange message board. I just had a request last week for some of last years seeds ...I don't mind but some growers like to wait until thing calm down after season is over ..hope this helps
