There were some progeny grown from the 1872 in 2013, but only two fruits reached around 1300 lbs., while the average of 8 reported fruits only was 957 lbs.! And please watch the picture of the flat tire 1872... This homely Wallace-Stelts mule of mighty 18hundreters is a genetically punk and anti-heavy (minus 12%) deadlock. I won´t trade it. It´s a sassy christmas present from Bumpkin, that I would not accept as charity, ´though it´s a 1789 child. But next year I will grow a nice selfed 1789 Freak, which was grown heavy in the jacket-class of professionals in RI. I only need the male blossoms from this mostly assertive giant to make edible pumpkins a little larger.

Why trade? I grew the 1872 last year. The plant and its root system were very aggressive! And it seemed to like to produce loads of female flowers way more then males. If I had it I would give it a go again..
