Greetings. I am contacting you today to solicit donations for a giant pumpkin/vegetable seed auction that will be held on www.bigpumpkins.com for the 2013 season. The auction will benefit the Growing Warriors Project. The Growing Warriors Project is a program to train, assist, and equip veteran families with the skills, tools, and supplies needed to grow high quality naturally grown produce for their families, their communities, and their country. This is an opportunity for veterans to serve their communities in a new roll - as true nation builders - literally from the ground up - family by family and region by region. The Growing Warrior Project is a partnership that includes veterans, civillians, and organizations. The intention is to bring these partners together to work as one. A driving force to help develop a local reliable food system. Not only are the program directors excited to raise some money via a giant pumpkin and giant vegetable seed auction, there is something more important... By nature, many veterans are competitive. The veteran farmers have expressed a huge interest in growing competively. I am personally donating 125 different seeds from my own collection for their 2014 growing season. The competitions will provide all veterans, some who suffer from PTSD, with a platform to interact with the public via a positive and fun experience. ALL donated seeds will be sold at the auction. As with any auction we are also looking for premium seeds that will fetch higher bids. Please check out www.growingwarriors.org for information regarding the cause. The sites PayPal account or mailing address will be used as the payment method. I (and hopefully another volunteer) will act as auction host and distribute seeds to winning bidders. Any seed donations can be mailed to me. On behalf of the Growing Warriors Project, thank you.
