Just my opinion, but I think it's an even trade if someone doesn't have a 1622 young but really want's to grow it. It's kind of like a supply and demand thing. Good luck in your search Maine...

This is becoming a pattern. I don't have a 1421 MP, but our club has a few 1421 crosses that you are welcome to. My favorite is the 830 Kenneally- 1421 x 1610 Lieber. Hope you snag a 1421 but if not we can help you out.

Sorry for the harsh words, but Handy took the topic of the post in the opposite direction. It was never a matter of if its an even trade or not. It was my offer of a 1622 for a 1421.5. If you dont like it then dont comment about it. Most of all dont reply with a post saying that you have a 1421.5 but you are not willing to trade it.

I believe maine pumpkin is right, people should stop hi-jacking somebody else' post. It's not because you guys disagree with his offer that you have to come and interfere.
and if you have to be an asskisser to get your seeds, wel you can just better get your seeds from someone else who doesn't need all those nice and kind words like you are wrighting a love poem. Being pollite is a must but to much is to much. I can understand Maine pumpkins reaction and I think this has to end now so please if you have any relevant infor, tell or otherwise buzzer off , lol

Handy shouldn't have posted. The reaction could have been a little more tactful. I lack tact myself sometimes but don't forget you cannot edit posts on this forum.
That being said, people get way out of control when it comes to seed trades. I hate when people say they have a specific seed and "email offers". Then they pick thru offers for a couple weeks.
Common guys, if you have a seed that you are not growing, help another grower out.

What folks have to remember is that a seed is "worth" what someone will pay for it or "worth" what someone is willing to trade for it.

You can't place value on a seed just because that is what someone paid at auction...I think we all know that seeds sell at auction for legitimate fundraising (most of the time) and money raised used for club purposes or weighoff prize money....often buyers dig deeper in thier pockets to pay for seeds at auction as it is for a good cause.

Good point North Shore Boyz. Seed value is in the eye of the beholder. I've spent a fair money in the past on 603.5 Muller seeds, at auctions. I liked it's history of producing nice orange pumpkins. Some growers who's aim is purely weight, might not pay diddely squat for a 603.5 Muller seed, as their objectives are different.
To get back on topic, does anyone want to make the trade with Maine_Pumpkin?

Yes sir people are crazy,350to400 for seed is crazy, i could see for a pumpkin for a display.350 is a truck payment.people are geting my home phone ,and callin offer money for my seeds ,guy offerd 20 bucks for 3 seeds , alittle devil on my shoulder said take it its a extra trailer load of cow poop,butt i dint told iam given out for free.guy was out lookin at the pumpkins in the frount yard and said he dint have any money but give me a j ,told i dint smoke and gave him some seeds anyway.lol

Really? This post is STILL alive? All I was looking for was a "Yes" answer to the trade offer. Some people really want a 1622 and they are going to be harder to come by this year. I DID offer to sweeten the deal yet nobody cared to ask what EXTRA seeds I was willing to throw in. I WAS willing to trade a 1161 Rodonis or add a 1385 Jutras and a 1495 Stelts to the trade but not now! I got 2 1421.5 seeds since I first posted this and just out of spite I'm not going to grow either of them. I'm just going to keep them and I hope they rot in my seed fridge.
