Alright, I need some new seeds. I finished 2nd in the state of WV in 2007 with a Wallace seed. Since then I have used seeds from WV pumpkins only, including my own, and every year mine end up slowing and dying around 500-700 pounds measured. This year is no exception. I always end up with one or two late 400-500#er's that I use for decoration. If anyone has any extra seeds for next year that would give me a shot at my 1000 pounder please let me know. I just believe the genetics of what I have been using are being pushed farther than they can achieve. I have seriously thought about giving up, but I love the hobby too much and just want to get that 1000 pounder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have LG, AG, Giant Bean and sunflower seeds to offer. Thanks everybody and, not begging, just know how great and kind the people on here are and the quality of seeds is immense and I don't wanna quit this fantastic hobby. PS- I know human error can account for some of my problems, but I also know I am doing a lot of things right and never have any trouble with any of my other giant veggies- Thanks so much in advance Doc Moore 1213 Maple Street Saint Marys, WV 26170

If you can wait another 4-6 weeks, plenty of people will be posting offers for free seeds on this board after final weigh offs and seeds are dried.
Stay tuned, keep your eyes open, and have plenty of postage and sasb's ready.

Doc, not sure if it's seeds...or growing conditions....seems to me I have seen a pattern of lesser gains w/multiple years in the same pkn patch! Seem's as tho I am reading more and more about patch rotation? Do you have a space available to start a new patch? No guarantees, but ? Awl replys are truly respected!!! Peace, Wayne

Steve Connolly grows in the same patch year after year. He does, however, feed his soil diligently with beneficial microorganisms and carefully selected organic material along other amendments.
His 1674 last year shows what you can get if you know what you are doing.
Check out the SNGPG website for more helpful hints.

We got off the seed exchange topic. Doc, check the Fertilizing and Watering board on this website for info on keeping your patch up to snuff.

Thanks everyone and I think I am gonna add one more spot for next year and try growing a single plant there. My whole back yard is already almost gone anyways (lot less mowing). :)
