don't overthink germination. File seed edges, soak overnight. pat dry and coat with captan fungicide. Plant in 5-6 inch peat pots with sterile germinating mix. Place on a seed starting mat and bottom water only when the peat pot dries out. If the seeds are viable, they will sprout.
