We have had great weather here in April, which is a refreshing change from the last 6-8 years. The original plan was to leave the cover crop growing outside the hoop houses but the weather let me get some dirt work done, I moved some topsoil around and ran the subsoiler through the patch. It tilled very nicely. I hate the idea of it sitting bare for the next month plus so I seeded a cover crop, it is called Mycorrhizal Mix from Green Cover Seeds, it contains Mung Beans, Common Vetch, Spring Lentil, Crimson Clover, Spring Oats, Spring Forage Barley, Forage Sorghum, German Millet, Flax, Sunflower, Baldy Safflower, Phacelia, Elevate'd Fungi Inoculant, RhizoBac X-Tend and MycoGreen NPK.
Hopefully it gets a little growth and at least gets some live roots in the ground.
If we get dry again I may subsoil and till before pulling the hoop houses but if not this will be the final till.
The next big project on the list is to get the wire installed on my posts to support the shade cloth before the hoops come off in a month or so.
