Corn and giant kale got along well enough. There were potatoes companion planted in here too. A triple combination that worked, which is rare. The Pacific Northwest "three sisters" is corn, kale, and potatoes, ha ha. In my garden, the traditional three sisters, beans, squash and corn... they don't get along very well.
