The red ones are a variety called "Liberty". I was initially disappointed by this variety but its actually a really good apple. It throws mostly medium apples but a few child-sized apples too which are good quality despite their small size. A good fruit tree is a good investment. Where else can you invest $20 or $30 and get a $60 return every year. I know, I know. Its not exactly a winning Powerball ticket!
