If you are a long gourd novice, an fyi about long gourds, the unpollinated ones get to be about a foot long then stop growing... and they will be less firm, a little more floppy, too.
They are relatively easy to pollinate once you get the hang of looking for the flowers in the evening rather than the morning, and also peeling away the parts of the flower that get in the way. But these long gourds do require a lot of going up and down a lightweight ladder, so that part might not be easy.
