48 degrees this morning, coolest night since June, summer is on the wane now. I am irrigating this am, with my balmy 51 degree well water, raising the temp by 3 degrees. I think the optimal watering would be a light sprinkle in the early evening to get the stomata open, and a deeper watering in the morning to actually get water to the roots, keeping a solar sugar factory running full throttle throughout the day, on shallow soil... probably means daily watering.
