I direct seeded some Jubilee and Allsweet melons because I only had 4 Harvest moon and 5 Orange crisp grafts survive. At almost a buck a seed for seedless melon seed, that is an expensive failure. Gardening is all about failure management and trying to turn lemons into lemonade. Never give up!
As a gardener you are never 100% successful. Nature has too many variables to account for.
If you want to approach being successful 100% of the time, stick to Engineering and trust in math.
