Thanks to my friend the resident chipmunk, I had to replant a second scarlet runner bean. I also found out she hates cayenne pepper which I applied everywhere I planted seeds. BAD, CRAZY RODENT!! May she have a burning HOT breath!! Anyway, I soaked this seed 4 hours, wrapped in a small square of paper towel and placed in a tiny closed plastic bag used for seed saving. The skin should look a little wrinkled.
