Day 0 for the 2015 season!! Seeds being started. I'm starting 3 of the 1038 Kline and 2 of the 997 Ansems that I had left over from last year.

I made a new spot for the pumpkins this year. It's next to the spot I've been using for the past three years, and I'm going to grow 2 pumpkins this year. I spent the day prepping the sites, adding compost and manure and rototilling. Topsoil goes in next weekend.

One week after planting 5 seeds, and only two have sprouted. I dug out the other 3 and they show no activity. I've never had a problem germinating seedlings before; every seed I've planted has always sprouted. Don't know that the difference was this year. I only have room for two pumpkins anyway, but now I can't donate a seedling to my neighbor.

Planted the 1038 Kline on Sunday, April 26th. This one went into my standard patch I've been using for the last several years. The Ansems was planted to, in the new patch on my backyard slope.

The Ansems and Kline are growing well, each in their respective patch. But each is showing some bad signs. The Ansems has brown, decaying leaf material around the margins of some leaves (picture). The Kline seems in better shape but has some yellow spots in the center of some leaves. If anybody can help, please email me at [email protected]. Thanks!
