Missouri\Arkansas border viewing Arkansas. Cedars are swollen, grass is greening and amphibians are on the move with the rains. Spring is very near.

This is my first year since 2018 that I am growing with amendments, laying out and burying vines etc. Past few years I just planted and let everything grow in a huge mess (mostly field Pumpkins). Kids are getting older and time is opening up after a 7 yr layoff. We lost a few huge Shingle Oaks, and I should get more light than the 2pm cutoff I fought years ago. I will be going with 2 of the 3 below:

Perfect evening to till. Redbuds watching the progress and Spring Peepers calling in the background.

Back in the depths of a storage room are the newly germinated plants from this morning. Will have them in the patch mid to late next week.

Day 10 for the 1965 Casper, 2018 Hazeltine and the 2225 Wolf. Patch is ready to go, but the copious amounts of rain need to stop. Side note: Doug English stopped by a few days ago and brought some mill fabric and requested giant sunflower seeds. Always good to talk to a world class grower with tons of knowledge. He’s one of those guys that knows every element of gardening.
