Jill wanted to take care of her own plant this year so I am showing her the ropes. I gave her a 1211.5 McCracken plant which looked great when it was little then developed a really bad ribbon vine. We terminated the main then trained a nice secondary to become the new main. Meanwhile we pollinated this one 12 days ago on the first side vine. It's now 32 inches around and looking good. She's also got a new pollination on the new main as a backup but will probably keep this one if it continues to grow well.

My 1074 fruit, day 18 today. Circ. of 67 inches. Everything is growing well so far, all stumps look excellent even though I have not covered them. No fans set up yet either, I've been so damn busy. Still, the plants have no real problems so far. Obviously, I just jinxed the hell out of myself. My best early grower is my 1211.5, which I will post an update for tomorrow......

Took this picture last night of my 1211.5 fruit. It was day 15 and it measured 63 inches in circ., by far my biggest day 15 measurement of the season. It's a bit of a troublesome plant though just like it's mother. Leaves seem to break easily and there's a scratched up spot on the main vine I don't like the looks of. Don't know what happened there but will keep a close eye on it for sure.

Day 30 was today for the 1382 Bryson. Easily my prettiest one in the patch. All my pumpkins have names now too - this one is Annie. Very well behaved and healthy plant except for the grasshopper damage, which isn't too bad. OTT of 273 inches.

The biggest one in my patch is the 1744 Fulk. OTT of 283.5 inches. Yet another nice plant, but with an inch and a half of rain last night I've started setting up fans on the stumps. This one, Georgia, has been doing 35 to 38 pounds a day over the last 6 days.

Measured my 1211.5 McCracken tonight on day 31. OTT of 289 inches, doing 30 pounds a day despite a hideous mess of a plant. Leaves have been breaking and rotting left and right, which seems to run in the family of this plant. I don't really think that could be genetic but maybe weak leaf stems could be (?)

Day 63 for Georgia, growing on the 1744 Fulk. Been battling a lot of stem and vine cracks, two fans on it now and every few days cutting away a little rot. OTT into the 380s now
